Five years on from the underwhelming 2004 album ‘Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' the Essex trio are back with their fifth studio album ‘Invaders Must Die’, which sees the band make a welcome return to their earlier sound and what they do best: hard, aggressive dance.
The album starts with the onslaught of dark heavy granite-like beats and grinding guitar riffs of its title track followed by the thundering aggression of lead single, Oman.
Harking back to Out of Space is the heavy track, Thunder which features a sample of an earthy ragga vocal, while Colours is pure brutal punk with rock heavy riffs.
It’s only when you get to the middle section that this album definitely comes into its own with tracks like the fantastic ‘Take Me to the Hospital’ which sees the band return to their rave roots with high-pitched ear-piercing vocal stabs.
Throughout this album there are brief visits back to different stages of the bands career from the aggressive bassline and old skool sounds of ‘Warrior Dance’ to the crunching chords and manic drumming head banger that is ‘Run With The Wolves’.
There are a few let downs on the album such as the totally lacklustre ‘Piranha’, the nasty tinny sounds of ‘Colours’ and the misplaced closing track ‘Stand Up’.
Although this album fails to sustain its quality throughout it seems to me that the Essex trio are back on form.

Kraftwerk and Massive Attack for Bestival 2009
Kraftwerk, Massive Attack, Klaxons and MGMT have been added to the line-up for this year’s Bestival.
This year's event will be held at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from the 11th to 13th September and will feature a new site layout.
Massive Attack will headline on the Friday (September 11th) and German electro pop veterans Kraftwerk will headline on Saturday, (September 12th).
The line-up also includes Fleet Foxes, Seasick Steve, Friendly Fires, Florence and the Machine and Goldie Lookin Chain. More acts are still to be announced for the festival.
Each Bestival is themed and fans are encouraged to dress up. The theme for this year’s event is Outer Space.
Other acts at the 14 stages include the Beat, Squarepusher, Future Sound Of London, Florence & The Machine, Little Boots, Friendly Fires, Passion Pit, Hockey. This year's fancy dress theme for the festival is 'outer space.'

Snow Patrol – SECC, Glasgow – 24th February 2009
As far as venues go I have never been a fan of the oversized halls of the SECC, however, I was still looking forward to the gig, especially since they announced the support acts would be White Lies and The Ads.
Glasgow band The Ads kicked things off and even although I wasn’t too familiar with their stuff I was really impressed, these guys were fantastic. I can’t believe I haven’t heard more about them, they definitely deserve a bit more recognition. Can’t wait to hear more of their stuff and I will definitely go and see them again.
Next up was White Lies, again didn’t know too much about them but what I have heard I do like. Their set was quite short but they didn’t really impress me, they were ok. However I don’t think this was entirely down to the band, I think it was more down to the venue.
When Snow Patrol came onstage Gary Lightbody started declaring his love for Glasgow, the city he calls his second home, and its weather!?
They opened the set with their new single, If There’s A Rocket, Tie Me to It, following with a personal favourite of mine and one of their biggest hits, Chasing Cars, with the crowd singing along to the chorus.
They belted out hits such as Spitting Games, Chocolate and Crack the Shutters and the crowd loved it. Lightbody then mingled amongst the audience before choosing a random couple to sing an acoustic version of Run to with the crowd joining in.
Although the band was brilliant it wasn’t the best Snow Patrol gig I’ve been to but it was never going to be, due to the chosen venue. Snow Patrol is a band that really needs to be seen and heard in a smaller venue with a more intimate setting for the beauty of their music and lyrics to be truly appreciated.

Official Line-Up Unveiled For T In The Park 2009
The line-up for this year's T in the Park festival has been unveiled.
Franz Ferdinand, Lily Allen, Manic Street Preachers, Bloc Party and the Ting Tings are among the new additions to this year's T in the Park festival line-up, due to be held at Balado, Kinross, from 10th to 12th July.
They will join previously announced headliners Blur, Kings of Leon and The Killers.
Other newly confirmed acts for the event include Keane, James, Paulo Nutini, The Script, Mogwai and Simian Mobile Disco. Many more acts are still to be confirmed.

The Boss to Headline Glastonbury Festival
It has been confirmed that US rocker, Bruce Springsteen will headline this year's Glastonbury festival.
After months of rumour and speculation, Glastonbury organisers announced today (23rd February) that ‘The Boss’ will be the Saturday night headliner at this year’s festival, which takes place from the 26th – 28th June.
“I’m so pleased that Bruce Springsteen has agreed to come to Worthy Farm for the first time. He’s one of the all-time rock legends and I’m confident that this will be one of our best shows ever.” Said Festival founder Michael Eavis.“I’m knocked out that we’ve managed to get Bruce to play. It’s the icing on the cake of this year’s bill, which I’m sure will take everyone’s breath away when we announce the full details.” adds Michaels daughter Emily Eavis.
Neil Young and Blur are also rumoured to be the other two Glastonbury headliners.
Tickets for this year’s festival have now sold out. Although a very limited number of cancelled tickets and returns will be sold from 9am (GMT) on Sunday 5th of April.

Marilyn Manson and ZZ Top Set to Play Download
Controversial shock-rocker Marilyn Manson and legendary Texan blues-rockers ZZ top have been added to the 2009 Download festival line-up.
American metalcore outfit Killswitch Engage, have also been added to the bill.
The summer rock festival, now in its seventh year is held on 12th – 14th June 2009 at Donnington Park will also see performances from the likes of Limp Bizkit, The Prodigy, Slipknot and Motley Crue.
